All I want is night time..

Night Clubbing + DJ's = Music & Fun!!

You know, I've always loved and supported DJ's in Austin since I started clubbing with my friends in 1988-89...all the way through the years, and even now I still love it as I did yesterday!

Today, I feel like there just isn't enough people out there that are supporting the DJ's of Austin. In the Austin club scene DJ's have created their own enterprise, so to speak.

Over the years, DJ's have made a name for themselves and have a strong following of people who are dedicated to coming out to their gigs (not including the new DJ's). I know that there is a committed group of people that do come out and support. Those people have always supported throughout the years, but I just don't notice much of a younger crowd coming into it with all the DJ's that have been around for 20+ years.

And I feel they have been 'under appreciated' for what they've always been doing, especially today. I know that way back when, that was all that we were doing and talking about...getting ready..spending hours with makeup and dressing up and going out to the clubs, to hear our favorite DJ's spin the music we all loved dancing to, it was all the rage and was highly supported! Even the club owners were more into it! Great promoting going on all around and great door staff!


All the cool people who used to work at these clubs no longer do, obviously. And also speaking of door staff...the door staff today looks like they could care less about the nightly gigs that go on in the clubs they work at...really sad..why work there!! And why hire those kind of people?! I cannot stand people who just sit or stand by the door like they were forced to do that job and just have that "I hate my job" look on their faces..it's not like it's so hard to be cool to people walking in..welcome them!

What the hell happened?!



Of course I will continue to support..after all, I am engaged to The Greatest DJ of Austin! Roger Wilson!


Well that's all I wanted to express..and it may not be complete or in the best way that I was thinking..edited a lot from what I had originally said here..there is so much..I am just so jacked up on caffeine that I cannot express anymore in the simplest direct way...I think you may get what I'm saying...so I'll end this entry now.....

May 28th at Elysium Return to Planet 9 was started in 1989 by DJ Roger Wilson at 'The Planetarium' Nightclub in Austin, Texas. 'Return to Planet 9' was an Early 80's New Wave explosion into the mid 1990's.

For the last 10+ years...it has been underground.

Living in the hearts and minds of those who knew it best.

It is now reborn.

Unearthed.

Reconstructed from the ghosts of the past and the people of the future....it is alive.

DJ Roger Wilson has devolved into Subspace Freakquency...and is now consumed by the music freakquencies that oscillate in his mind.

Friday, May 7th at the luxurious Copa Nightclub on 217 Congress Ave. is the site of my latest 80's excursion into GOOD TIMES!

Join me and superstar Jade Vanity for the start of a brand new phenomenon 'SPIN 80'. I spin all vinyl all night and the music is full of massive club tracks from the 80's plus some always freakqy and unique cutz from the Subspace vault of Vinyl Desires! ;) Don't miss it. Fabulous club. Upscale atmosphere. Tasty cocktails and a Freakq DJ takin' care of YOU!

Friday, May 14th at Prague Nightclub on 5th and Congress I am joining forces with Austin's very own darkworld, electronic tribal dance supergroup HIPNAUTICA!

The event is called 'Untervelt' and the setting, performers, nightclub and yours truly will be in rare dark form as Prague is transformed into progressive electro bliss! Check the Facebook invitation for all the details! I expect to spin from 10-12 and the after the band. The initial response has been massive and I look forward to blowing up the dance floor for all y'all!

Saturday, May 22nd (Not yet booked) 1yr Anniversary for NEW NEON!

New Neon is a freakqy Musik-Art Experiment that Jade Vanity and I created as a way to release the creative drive that lives inside us both. In one year we have released over 40 songs, countless photos and numerous video experiments on an unsuspecting planet! I can’t believe how amazing this project has been and the fact that it has been such a fun and freakqy ride! We are considering a party to commemorate the event...stay tuned!

Friday, May 28th at Elysium Nightclub at 705 Red River is the next installment of 'Return to Planet 9'!

This night has been going strong at Elysium for several months now and each one is bigger and better. This is the rebirth of the legendary 80's New Wave night that I started many years ago...and the renaissance is in full effect! Its deep, has meaning and really takes you to another place. If you enjoy great 80's New Wave / Dark Wave and Electro Wave spun exactly like it was at all the historic nightclubs from the 80's....you will not be disappointed! Join the movement. Add your voice to the sound of the crowd! This one falls at the start of the long holiday weekend so take flight!

Saturday, May 29th... Private Party at Firehouse Lounge...then bouncing of buildings downtown with the one and only Jade Vanity Superstar!
