Tuesday Afternoon Thoughts
I would like to address my own personal feelings on New Neon, a musical project that happened accidentally, with my beloved Roger Wilson.
I think it is clear that what we have created is a very non-standard musical entity all it's own. We didn't set out to "create" something that was already done. Once we had created sounds..we both realised, at least to us, that we had some pretty strange and unique sounds, beats, and vocals (mostly of spoken words, some originated from my old poetry) and then all the effects thrown in..it's hard for me to put into words exactly what is it that we are, what our sound means..yet, I know for a fact that we can both agree on what we have, it is very special to us and it is deep and truly bizzare AND a lot of fun!
We are coming up on 3 years with New Neon this May, and I must say that it has been quite a journey for us. I can also say that what we've accomplished for ourselves thus far, is quite remarkable and we are proud to stand by what we've become musically...although, to many people, I'm sure we are hard to comprehend and even like us. We do appreciate feedback and criticism.
For those who have embraced our freakqy sounds, and accept our "non-traditional" music and us, overall..that is great! We appreciate and love their support!
We will continue to progress, be inspired, and create more unique and freaky electro sounds..keeping our signature "New Neon sound" and perhaps we'll add more "traditional elements" of music into our sound that is more familiar to most people...like hooks and choruses, and verses....you get the idea...
For now, we will continue to create music that we truly enjoy and love and that is really what it is all about....thank you for taking the time to read this....that is all.
